Ye Cao was awarded a gold medal at MRS meeting held in November 2012 for his poster titled "Phase-field Simulation of Defect Transport and Resistance Degradation Behavior in Single Crystal BaTiO3". The poster discussed the effect of ferroelectric and ferroelastic domain structures on resistance degradation in BaTiO3 single layer capacitor. This work is important to the fundamental understanding of the degradation mechanism and reliability of ferroelectric capacitors. |

Houbing Huang was nominated for the best poster award at MRS meeting held in November 2012 for his poster titled "Micromagnetic Simulation of Spin-transfer Torque Effects in Heusler-based Alloy Spin Valve".
